Old Business:

Promo items for AGM to be ordered in New Year.

New Business:

The forums held with Mike Quebec on the CRA survey was well received. David and Ed attended and felt the members were open and honest with their responses.

Discussion took place on how to attract members to the AGM and to the monthly meetings. This is an ongoing topic.

Members have questioned the legal action against scabs as they do not agree. There are provisions in the PSAC constitution and these have to be followed. During periods of strike members do have access to hardship fund. As union members we must stand together to protect the contract and the benefits we have gained.

UMI – Union Mangament Initative – Negotiate at the lowest possible level. Union representative, member and managers can meet to get to win/win for both sides. This does not replace ADR. Terry attended a session as she is one of the trainers.  The participants will now train the managers. This is a good tool for the union and management to use. The executive felt that BFTSO was already working on UMI. Training had been provided for the course at the Justice Institute.

Budget planning meeting 2007 – Hilde will forward the upcoming events for 2007 and the financial stmts for the executive to review for meeting on Jan 4th.

Positions up for election at AGM in February – 1st vice president, director position held by Ed Painter, Secretary, Treasurer.

Parking: Management is  revisiting increase in cost of parking proposed by Impark.  This topic was discussed at the UMC in December. They have asked for an independent study to be done by the same firm who did the previous study.

Website: Roberta  Craig has updated the website with the minutes. Terry asked that the website be updated to show where the monthly meetings are being held.  We should update our website with information on the various scholarships that are available to our members. .

Bylaws changes for AGM need to be posted 14 days before AGM.

PSAC Health & Safety conference is in January and Terry Ruyter has been chosen as a delegate.

UTE Regional Health & Safety conference is in Montreal in February, 2007. Our local is entitled to one fully funded delegate.  We will discuss sending an observer at our budget meeting.
