This past year as your 1^st VP has been very eventful, busy, and most of all fulfilling for me.

Our National Convention 2011 took place in Montreal in July; I was fortunate and honoured to attend as an alternate/observer. To prepare for the convention I attended the National Presidents Conference in Ottawa, and the Regional President’s Conference in Whistler; these were experiences I will never forget and thank you.

Monthly, I attended the UTE 20002 executive meetings, as well as, the monthly steward meetings. In September I attended the PSAC Steward training “Talking Union Basics” and in October I attended the “Understanding the Collective Agreement”; both courses were informative and helpful. I’ve enjoyed my duties as a steward and look forward to serving you if the need ever arises.

As well, I sit on the OHS committee and continue my duties as a Regional UTE Trainer for the OHS Committee training.

In closing I’ve enjoyed my year as your 1^st VP and look forward to 2012 being a great year for UTE.
