Report
for the 2012 Annual General Meeting
Local
20002
I take this opportunity to thank the membership for your support and involvement with the local.
I remained involved with Employment Equity by sitting on the TSO’s employment equity committee as the UTE representative. This allowed me to remain informed about all the opportunities and circumstances that impacted each of the equity groups.
The health and safety of all members continued to be a priority of mine during the past year. There were a variety of challenges when it came to dealing with the employer’s facilities and their procedures.
Please report anything that may have a negative impact on your health and well being when you are performing your duties for the employer otherwise they may not be rectified.
To ensure career progression and the protection of your rights I encourage you to obtain as much education and training as possible. The Local has strived to obtain education and training that will prepare you to face the challenges to your rights. I take this opportunity to remind you of the scholarships that are offered by UTE National. Please encourage anyone that may qualify to apply; as obtaining financial assistance is the key to furthering ones education.

It will be vital that we go forward unified and strong in order to obtain the best possible contract.
The Local wants to ensure that each and every member is heard in order that your rights are protected as well as working to ensure desires are met. A well represented membership is best served by strong and diverse executive.
I encourage you to approach me or any of
the Local executive should you have any questions or concerns that the
